T-Shirt Necklace

Here is a fun way to add a splash of color to your day & to up-cycle at the same time.
My fabulous model (my niece) went to Value Village and picked out
a couple t-shirts and created these fun necklaces with her.

Messenger Bag

This Messenger bag was a custom pick, by a special girl.
She loved the zoo animals design which was created by
Alexander Henry: 2D Zoo - Primary.
This bag has a durable strap made from 2" webbing which is adjustable.
There are also a lot of pockets on and in this bag to hold just about anything.
3 pockets on the back of the messenger, 1 zipper pocket under the flap in the front, and 6 slip
pockets inside the messenger bag.

Still need a name for this style!

This is the 2nd time I used this pattern...from memory, and I think I did quite well.
I now know the measurements I need and think I will be sticking with this
design for a little bit, so look for more colors to come!

A trial handbag...no pattern, no name

This was the first time I used the clasp for this handbag and well I
have to say I am very impressed! I love this new twist -- literally!
Anyways, this handbag was created out of my scraps yep you read
correctly...scraps. I love the way this came out! I just have to
remember the measurements to recreate this little beauty.

A bag for a special friend...

What a cute little bag. I was able to line it was a thick canvas and added 3 pockets
for the interior. As you can see there is a snap for the closure, and a nice thick flap.
I was able to gather the bottom the the bag for extra pizazz.
On the sides of the bag I added ties to add character.
When I made this bag I just...well made it, so I will need to make a pattern for the next time
I decide to make it...which I know I want to already!
This little creation only took me about 3-4 hours to complete...minus the snack, cup of tea
and attending to my son who was calling me

Handbag for Rochelle

This was a birthday gift which was purchased for a busy mom of 3,
two of them are 18 month old twins! Talk about busy!
After much discussion about the color of the bag, Rochelle
decided to have a bag similar to the Jamie Bag.
This bag was created from a nice durable blue/grey canvas
with a fun retro tree lining.
With Rochelle's bag she will have the abilty to place all kinds of objects inside
the 6 pocket handbag
And with some extra help I added a key chain clip so she can
easily access her car keys without digging through her bag.

The Wallet

This was my first attempt with a new pattern. And while it turned out pretty
cool, there are some things I plan on changing when I make some more.
But this one was pretty cool. There are 6 credit card holders, and one large
pocket for bills, and the lower section is large enough for a check book.
The whole thing is secured by Velcro...which is what I will be
changing next time...to a snap.
Other then that, I loved the colors, and it is a great project to use up my extra fabric!
More to come....

T-Shirt Necklace's

Old T-Shirts upcycled into a new wear!
My husband and I have a ton of shirts from all the races we have done over the years.
I felt bad just sending them off to Goodwill, so I thought I would
create something useful.
These necklaces can be worn long or double wrapped, its pretty cool!

No-Name Brown Bag - Name me!

This brown bag stands 14" tall and is about 12" wide.
I created this bag for my very first PDF Pattern.
There is a 7" zipper on the front of the bag and 6 pockets inside the pocket.
There is a simple flap to close the bag with a 2" cloth button.

I would love to get a name for this bag, so if you have any thoughts please le
t me know!

Happy Birthday Bridget!

Happy 23rd Birthday Bridget!
I found out the day before I gave this to Bridget that it was her birthday today (May 10th)
So when 9:00pm rolled around I thought I should make something for her, and after searching through my scraps, I was able to muster up enough fabric for this cute little bag. It's still a pretty good size, at 17' at the base and stands 13" tall with an opening of 9".
I reinforced the bottom of the bag with Peltex to give it some shape.
What a little cutie! (And for not having a pattern on hand!)

T-Shirt Necklace

I created this necklace from a t-shirt my husband gave to me. The shirt was an old SNAP Fitness shirt too big for me, but great for a craft!
The necklace hangs about 20" down and is great to wear with other t-shirts.
I am trying something new and plan on making these necklaces for only $10, if you provide the t-shirt and $2.00 for shipping. Pretty good since most of these necklaces are being sold for around $25.00+.
If anyone is interested let me know!

For my mother-in-law (MLAW)

Jana, my mother in law really wanted a pink handbag to wear with both black and brown. So I created this little number for her. Well it was more like this: "Hello Shannon my birthday is coming up and I want a pink purse for my birthday, okay thanks" LOL
This pink bag was made from 100% cotton and has a magnetic snap for the closure.
Measures:
14' top opening
19' bottom
14' high
18' strap

Enjoy Jana!

Baby Blanket

How cool is this? I would love to be wrapped up in this cozy blanket. This blanket is made from 100% cotton, flannel, and cozy fuzzy fabric.

This baby blanket will be perfect for swaddling any baby...well hopefully my friends baby and will be completely safe for machine washing and drying.

Diaper cake

When my dear friend said she was expecting a baby...on my birthday in June may I add,
I was super excited for her!
Now I get to make her all these cute little things for her baby...
then my other dear friend just came to me and said she was expecting in September.
Now I am crazy busy making things for both of my friends...please don't drink the water!

Diaper cake with 3 diaper cupcakes

For my friend due in June, I made her this cute diaper cake from felt, fabric, ribbon, diapers, Aveeno bath wash, 1 bottle scrubber and 2 binkies. I was very pleased with how this turned out and have some different idea's for my other friends diaper cake. But alas, she will be able to take this home and have 50 newborn diapers to use. Not only is this cake pretty cool but it is functional as well.

For my Auntie in Alaska

My mom loved her bag I made her so much she insisted I make one for her cousin. The bag was created from upholstery from my mothers couch. I also used a 7inch zipper for the inside pocket. The ties on the side give the bag some shape, and character. I was very happy how this turned out, can't wait to hear from her!

My Sis-in-laws birthday bag

Ahh, a classic for an everyday wardrobe. This was made from 100% brown cotton and a floral print for the lining. I used a 7inch zipper for an inside pocket and also created a simple pocket for a cell phone or keys. This bag measures about 14inches for the opening, about 17inches tall and 17inches across the bottom.
I know my sister-in-law will love this cute bag!
I also created a button for the closure, and made a durable shoulder strap. (I may have to test it out before I mail it to her....(our little secret) ;)

Forever 21

So there is a story behind this bag...my SLAW (sister-in-law) was borrowing this dress for her bachelorette party and during the fun and games managed to ruin it with permanent ink. Sad. So she asked me to cut it up and make a handbag out of it and give it back to her friend...here is what I was able to create. (And might I add, I felt weird cutting up a cute dress)
