My Sis-in-laws birthday bag

Ahh, a classic for an everyday wardrobe. This was made from 100% brown cotton and a floral print for the lining. I used a 7inch zipper for an inside pocket and also created a simple pocket for a cell phone or keys. This bag measures about 14inches for the opening, about 17inches tall and 17inches across the bottom.
I know my sister-in-law will love this cute bag!
I also created a button for the closure, and made a durable shoulder strap. (I may have to test it out before I mail it to her....(our little secret) ;)

Forever 21

So there is a story behind this bag...my SLAW (sister-in-law) was borrowing this dress for her bachelorette party and during the fun and games managed to ruin it with permanent ink. Sad. So she asked me to cut it up and make a handbag out of it and give it back to her friend...here is what I was able to create. (And might I add, I felt weird cutting up a cute dress)

How cool is this little bag?
This was the last of the blue/red fabric I had and I was still able to create this little clutch.
It is about 9" tall and 14" for the base and 10" for the opening.
The one thing I was very happy about was the button I made, out of the last bit of fabric.
I do believe you will be seeing more of my fun matching buttons on my creations in the near future.

Seeing red?

Since I am on a budget, I have only been using my scraps, and thinking about different ways to make a handbag with only certain amount of fabric, a challenge yes, outcome...great!
From this bag you will notice this is the same fabric which I used in the blue bag.
I used a vintage 60's red 7" zipper for the interior pocket, and a cool 1960's button for the front.
This is a spacious bag, which is 17" at the base at 12" for the opening. It stands about 14" tall.

Fly Away Home...zzzz

My mom is obsessed with birds...her house will fly away soon with all the birds in her house.
Back to the sewing, when I saw this fabric I knew my mom needed it...yes I am supporting her habit. Well I hope she will like it, wait I know she will!

Adult Apron

I was asked by my Hair Stylist to create a cute black apron. The one she has now is made from rubber and makes all her clothes icky by the end of the day. After some time I found this cool fabric for the liner which is water-proof and light weight, of course it is lined with black so it is hard for the picture to see it, but it is there.
I hope she likes it!

The Everyday Brown Bag

While in Portland and visiting a cool little fabric shop I found this cool fabric. Since I don't have a brown bag I made this one for my everyday use...well until I create a new one. LOL

Two pockets on the inside

Two snap closures

Cool in Blue

When I was in Portland OR visiting my cousin she took me to this super cute little fabric store. In addition, for running my first half marathon my husband rewarded me with a little shopping spree and this is just some of the cool fabric I picked out. Now if you look close you can see a hint of red in the blue fabric. So COOL! Anyways, this is the design I thought up for myself.
Inside I have 3 pockets, 1 zipper, and 2 small pockets.
Thank you Jamie! (Maybe I should call this bag "Jamie")

Expandable

Expandable messenger bag! This is a custom design by my friend Tara C. She needed to have a larger bag with the fabrics she hand picked for her baby who is due Jan 2010.
The best thing about this bag are the never-ending pockets. I sewed 6 inside with the contrasting fabric, 1 zipper on the back with a flap hiding it, 1 pocket on the front flap, and on the front of the bag under the flap 2 pockets and a pen pocket. Whew!
Here is the side profile of the expandable bag when it is tied up
Here is the bag when it is not cinched up - I can't wait to make myself one of these bags - and it is a large bag!

Made some pillowcases

My mother asked me to make this for her stepdaughter. She is a bit emo and it also helps that she has the swallow tattoos on her hips.
My mother also asked me to make these pillowcases for her stepson-in-law. He is also is very much into emo and tattoos.

Finally something for me! I have been struggling with colors for my bedroom and I found this! Thank you mom! Birds and orange! Yes I am weird.

My son picked this material out for his baby-sitter. I hope she likes it. (I had to convince my son she might not like cars, or trucks)
